About the workshop:
Drawing from simple plant specimens the workshop explores different pen drawing techniques such as stippling and cross hatch with ballpoint, japanese ink pens and indian ink wash. Stippling is a technical term – but is far from technical! It is simply drawing depth and shadow with stippled or dotted marks instead of lines. It’s a brilliant and easy-to-learn technique, strangely compelling and addictive. For those of you interested in expanding your drawing and painting skills, the workshop explores combining light ink wash technique with over drawing in pen. (See images below). Note, all of my workshops welcome beginners and we will work together to develop from a simple starting point to grow your own creative confidence at your own pace.  If you’ve attended one of my Nature Journaling workshops before, this is a great next step but please bring your journal and we will work to add new skills to your precious book!!
Returning and beginner students are welcome!

Aotearoa/NZ Workshops update:

Thanks to all of my wonderful venues in Aotearoa and a huge thanks to all my incredible students!  It has been a pleasure working with you all.  I will be running workshops in NZ a little less frequently in 2026 due to my new adventures in Adelaide, South Australia, but please keep an eye out on my instagram @botanical.artclass and Facebook pages for any NZ updates and feel free to contact me if you would like to work with me.
See you soon!
